My World: Terms of Service

1. The Service

My World is a personalized communication-board (AAC-style) app: a parent or caregiver builds a picture board a child can tap to communicate, with AI-illustrated tiles, spoken words, learning games, and progress tracking. These terms are an agreement between you and My World Tap to Talk LLC.

2. Who may use it

You must be 18 or older and the parent or legal guardian of the child you set the board up for (or a caregiver/therapist acting with that parent's permission). The child uses the board; the account is yours, and you are responsible for activity under it.

3. Not medical care: important

My World is a communication support tool. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and is not a substitute for evaluation or therapy from a qualified professional (such as a speech-language pathologist or physician). Progress statistics, "mastery" indicators, and teaching schedules are informational estimates drawn from board usage. They are not diagnoses or clinical measures. Always involve your child's care team in decisions about their communication and development.

4. Your content and permissions

You keep ownership of everything you upload (photos, recordings, words). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and transform that content solely to operate the Service for your family, e.g., sending a photo to our AI providers to draw it in your board's style, or synthesizing speech for a tile.

You are responsible for having permission to upload photos or recordings of other people. Only upload a photo of a family member, caregiver, or other person if they (or their guardian) have agreed. We may remove content that violates these terms or the law.

5. AI-generated content

Tiles and portraits are generated by AI models. They are stylized illustrations, not photographs, and may contain inaccuracies or artifacts. Likenesses are approximate. If a generated image is wrong or inappropriate, use the retry tools or contact us and we will help regenerate or remove it. You may use images generated for your board for personal, family, and therapeutic purposes.

6. Credits, subscriptions, and payments

• Credits are a prepaid, non-transferable license to generate images (e.g., 1 credit per standard tile; family-member portraits cost more, as shown at purchase). Credits are not money and carry no cash value. Credits you buy in a pack, or that come bundled with a board purchase, don't expire while your account is active. Credits granted with a membership month or as a bonus (starter wallet, onboarding and invite bonuses, promotional codes) expire 30 days after they are granted; we always spend expiring credits before purchased ones, so you never lose credits you paid for. Your balance shows what is on a clock and when.
• Memberships are auto-renewing monthly subscriptions that grant credits each month and unlock styled art, automatic teaching, and progress reporting: My World Starter ($4.99/month, 10 credits), My World Plus ($9.99/month, 50 credits — adds naturally spoken whole sentences, listening-driven vocabulary suggestions, and one live voice clone), and My World Pro ($19.99/month, 150 credits — adds a second voice clone and one personalized behavior book per month). Listening mode and the sentence builder are part of the board on every plan, including free. When you join, your credits are spent automatically on building your child's personalized starter board (the core vocabulary plus two family portraits), charged at the lower of the build's credit price or your full monthly grant. On Plus this typically uses the whole first month's credits; on Pro, at least 50 credits always remain after the enrollment build. Cancelling never removes content you have already made. On iOS they are billed by Apple: payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation; they renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period; manage, switch tiers, or cancel any time in your Apple ID subscription settings. Web memberships are billed by Stripe and can be managed or cancelled from the store's "Manage billing".
• Credit packs are one-time credit top-ups for members; they require an active membership to spend on styled art and stack on top of your monthly credits.
• Refunds: purchases made through Apple follow Apple's refund process (reportaproblem.apple.com). For web purchases, contact support@myworldtaptotalk.com within 14 days of purchase for unused credits and we'll make it right. Credits already spent on completed generations are not refundable, but every image you generate is yours to keep, and if a generation fails, the retry is on us.
• Prices may change; changes never apply retroactively to credits you already hold.

7. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to generate unlawful, hateful, or sexual content; don't upload photos of people without permission; don't attempt to access other families' data; don't resell the Service. We may suspend accounts that do.

8. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (dashboard or in-app settings), which permanently removes your family's data per the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts for material violation of these terms; if we ever discontinue the Service, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your board.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. (Some states don't allow certain limits, so parts of this may not apply to you.)

10. Governing law & changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA. If we materially change them, we'll notify you by email and in-app before the change takes effect; continued use after that is acceptance.
